Scholarship Winners



The 86th Annual Meeting of the Mid-Yellowstone Electric Cooperative took place on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025, at the Hysham School Multipurpose Room. Manager Jason Brothen unveiled the new Rate Schedule, introduced the staff, and praised lineman John Cunningham for achieving journeyman status. In addition to celebrating Cunninghams accomplishment, three scholarships were granted: the Basin Scholarship to Mariska Fulton, a $1,000.00 MYEC Scholarship to Meryssa Price, a $500.00 MYEC Scholarship to Jacob Fay, and a $1,000.00 luck of the draw Scholarship to both Meryssa Price and Jacob Fay.
This year's special guest Speaker, Brent Battenfeld, who recently traveled to Guatemala to assist in bringing electricity to a more rural community. During his presentation, he shared this adventure and engaged in a discussion with Jason Brothen about the challenges he encountered, including limited equipment and language barriers, which they ultimately overcame to achieve their objectives.
Board President Tim Fulton presented the annual financial report, underscoring the co-op's consistent growth and fiscal responsibility. Members expressed approval as Tim detailed the successful installation of new meters and equipment upgrades.
Discussions ranged from grid resilience improvements to community outreach programs for educating younger generations. Manager Jason Brothen expressed gratitude for everyone's involvement and dedication to the cooperative's mission. The evening commenced with pulled pork sandwiches and yummy treats by the Forsyth Country Club.
Furthermore, we would like to thank the Hysham FFA for their hard work in setting up and cleaning plates through the meeting!
