2026 Mid-Yellowstone Electric Annual Meeting

On March 25, 2026, the Mid-Yellowstone Electric Cooperative (MYEC) proudly hosted its 87th Annual Meeting, welcoming members and guests with gratitude. The event opened with a heartfelt welcome from Tim Fulton, President of MYEC Board of Directors, who recognized the invaluable contributions of veterans and service members present.

The meeting was officially called to order, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, led by veteran Richard Pinkerton. With a quorum confirmed, the cooperative proceeded with its agenda, starting with the introduction of the Board of Directors and special guests.

In a refreshing change, CEO Jason and President Tim presented the financial reports together, revealing the cooperative's robust financial health. Audits by Summers McNea confirmed MYEC's stable financial standing, with plans to distribute $250,000 in capital credits this year. This is part of their ongoing commitment, having returned over $1.75 million to members since 2017.

A key focus of the meeting was the cooperative's dedication to reliability and future-proofing the power supply. Updates on infrastructure upgrades and partnerships with neighboring cooperatives like Basin Electric and WAPA were shared. Attendees learned about ongoing efforts to secure energy resources, including new generation projects and transmission upgrades vital for meeting future demands.

The cooperative's collaboration with Lower Yellowstone and Goldenwest Electric was celebrated, showcasing a decade of shared success, resource pooling, and strategic planning. The directors of these cooperatives emphasized the importance of working together to overcome future challenges.

Recognition was also given to the MYEC team for their dedication to maintaining power reliability and community involvement. Key team members, including CFO Marj Cunningham and Operations Manager Ken Rolandson, were acknowledged for their hard work.

The meeting also highlighted MYEC's engagement with political matters through the Montana Electric Cooperatives Association and announced the election of directors, with Reese Stahl re-elected and new member Dave Rickett joining the board.

Celebrating educational achievements, scholarships funded by unclaimed capital credits were awarded to deserving students, including Danica Gamble, Elizabeth Moke, and Bryan Bidwell.  In addition to these scholarships, we are pleased to announce that Reagan Fink will be representing the MYEC at the Washington D.C. trip this June. This opportunity will allow Reagan to engage with national leaders and gain valuable insight into the governmental processes that shape our nation.

The event concluded with a special tribute to Richard Pinkerton, honoring his retirement after years of devoted service to MYEC and the Montana Electric Cooperatives' Association.

The 87th Annual Meeting of MYEC was a testament to the cooperative's ongoing commitment to its members, financial integrity, and community-focused initiatives.
